Eligibility

To find a placement in the US Health Care Industry an aspiring nurse must fulfill the following requirements:


Educational Qualification - Minimum education qualification has to be H.S.C (Class XII) pass
Nursing Qualification - Should hold minimum 2 years diploma or associate degree in nursing or a 3 year Bachelor of science degree in nursing
Should hold a recognized certification in a nursing course which should license her as a first - level general nurse as defined by the International Council of Nurses
A certification of valid licensing from the Board of Nursing in the country where the nurse is currently practicing
Must have obtained theoretical instruction and clinical practice in a variety of nursing areas with a minimum of 1 year experience of direct patient care in a hospital in the last 2 or 3 years.
Appear and clear the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) examination. (Not applicable in all states)
Must appear and clear the English language exam of TOEFL/TWE/TSE or International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Has to clear Visa screen conducted by the International Commission on Healthcare Professions (ICHP), which is imperative and necessary for immigrating to US

In the US the aspirant has to clear the NCLEX examination to work as a registered nurse in a particular state
