Palms of Pasadena Hospital Congratulates Their Nurses From Abroad
During this last spring, Palms of Pasadena Hospital welcomed three families from Bombay, India into their family. Treesa Karkada RN, Rency Atly RN, and Jeyasheela Daniel RN; along with their husbands and children, arrived and were welcomed by CNO Kathy Saxon at the Tampa International Airport. For all three the physical journey had ended, but their transition into American nursing and way of life had just begun. Heather Wood RN, Clinical Instructor for Palms of Pasadena Hospital, interned all three nurses into the hospital’s culture of nursing excellence. They prepped for the NCLEX exam to obtain U.S. RN licensure, were taught nursing policy and procedures, and impressed everyone with their courage and positive attitudes along the way. Six months later, they all have obtained their RN licensure and PCU certification. Rency and Treesa have also become certified preceptors for newly graduated nurses, so that they can “pass it on” as part of the Palms grad internship program; and Jeyasheela has successfully completed an ACLS course provided by the hospital. Everyone at Palms would like to thank all three for sharing their expertise, their infectious smiles, and clinical excellence!
